Executive MBA vs. conventional MBA
The world of doing commercially possible
and money-making endeavors has grown to skies’ limit.
With this outstanding growth, putting money in any
business opportunity and, launching of it is no more a
problem. The problem lies in expertly managing of that
business. This problem seems to be a very clear
observation, but a real work done on finding ways to
solve this issue can only be found in the last century.
As given, thinking and implementing of a business idea
had never been a problem for businessmen, but the
problem was to appropriately administer the money put
into that business. The requirement of time was to have
the facility of such specialists who can perform both of
these tasks capably. After a methodical research by
academic inventors, Master of Business Administration
(MBA) degree appeared to carry out this requirement.

Like every other discipline, options and
modifications are introduced in MBA to cater to the
variety of business needs and requisites. As result of
this amendment effort, people thinking of pursing MBA
program have now got opportunities to go for different
types of MBA. The types are classified according to
frequency of classes, a particular MBA program holds and
mode of communication between students and MBA
institutes. Among the most popular types a bit recently
introduced one is Executive MBA. An Executive MBA is
just the thing needed by people who want to learn to
develop and practice business skills within their
personalities, without unsettling their routine
professional lives. It’s a wonderful agreement between
academic and practical worlds.
The points of difference between
Executive MBA and Conventional MBA (One year or Two
Year MBA Regular Program) are not very basic. It is so
because the objective of both degrees is unerringly the
same, as both educates one to properly administer the
business world. Also, there is no such existing thought
of considering one better than the other. This inability
to find difference between these two educational degrees
stem from the fact that curriculum offered by both is
almost the same. The curriculums of these two programs
are designed just as an initiative to cater to different
needs of different levels of management. An Executive
MBA Program is exclusively designed to target more
experienced individuals, whereas conventional MBA is for
younger group of pre-master graduates or young managers.

Thinking of one program, as more beneficial than the
other, by individuals totally depend on individuals’
educational needs, professional backgrounds and time of
availability they can afford to extract from their busy
lives. For example, if someone is not eligible to do
EMBA, he or she cannot say that full-time MBA is better
than EMBA. This point is cleared from the fact that when
MBA was introduced, the eligibility criteria for a
person to enroll in this program were to have bachelors’
degree whereas EMBA was started with common eligibility
criteria of having minimum two years of post-bachelor
work experience, though these conditions have been
revisited recently. Similarly, some monetarily week
individuals can’t afford to do their masters just after
their bachelors. EMBA provides such individuals with a
chance of returning back to their academic lives with
the help of money they get without disturbing their job
lives.
In short, both Executive, and Conventional MBA programs
are providing professional world with a justly groomed
talent. What we need is, to continue finding ways to
augment the benefits sought from these two programs.
