MBA Phobia - What's Next?
The fear of ceasing career growth for
students and professionals is no less than a fear of
living near a volcanic mountain. Students and
professionals living in both shaky and stable economies
share this fear in common. The difference between those
of two lies in the handling of that fear. In order to
tackle with this similar fear, students and
professionals present at both ends of the world, also
have a simple ‘shared’ approach. This approach includes
taking every single step which can seemingly make their
careers fly so that they can have lifestyle of a sonic.
Precisely, it refers to earning of every such
educational degree against which high salaries and perks
can be taken home from the job market. One such degree
very much promoted with an objective of getting people
all these accomplishments in a short span of time is
MBA. No matter, to which discipline a student or
professional belongs to, and regardless of the fact
whether he is a doctor, engineer or an artist, he is
finally counseled to do MBA.
MBA is not only promoted as one of the necessities of
professionals' lives, but it is also propped up as
something whose absence will make one's life a simple
dearth. How truthful is this redundantly promoted
notion; the answer to this question can only be found
under the light of some facts. Some modern academic
scholars strongly believe that getting an MBA degree is
not a guarantee to become a manager. The point
supporting this argument is that the job of a manager is
to getting things done through other people. Although,
this is not as trouble-free task as it sounds, but
having an MBA doesn't make this job any easier for you.
Managing of people can effortlessly be done by anyone
having strong naturally awarded persuasive skills, as
MBA has nothing to do with it. Another very much proven
attack on MBAs is their lacking of Professional Ethics.
As these MBAs grow in their respective industries,
instead of concentrating on becoming more loyal to the
respective companies they work in, they solely focus on
ways of increasing their "Bargaining Powers". Such
breeding opinions in the minds of employers have
certainly made them cautious in their hiring of people
with MBA Degrees.
The list of appalling characteristics of MBAs can go on;
the intention behind this exercise is not to degrade
MBAs but it is to make students and professionals
realize that if they have opted not to go for MBA, then
there is nothing wrong with this decision. In today’s
job world, MBA is not an "only" call of the day. The
bubble of MBA has already burst out. Employers’ world is
in no more of requirement of MBA All-Rounder rather, it
is looking for specialists: people who are fully
knowledgeable, skillful and experienced in their
individual fields of interests.
Fortunately, Educational reformers’ labors will continue
to help in evading out the effects of phobias like MBA.
Furthermore, the world of education holding sufficient
ability of self-evolvement will continue to guide
students and professionals to engage themselves in such
education disciplines, doing of which is considered a
"sensible act" by the professional world.
